Royal Shakespeare Theatre
Stratford-Upon-Avon is well renowned for being the home of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Recently refurbished in 2011, it plays host to two theatres as well as five bars and a rooftop restaurant with views overlooking the River Avon. This weekend’s performances include Jonson’s The Alchemist, Shakespeare’s Cymbeline and ‘a landmark production’ of Hamlet as described by the Financial Times, so be sure to book your ticket and delve deep into the world of Shakespeare.

Stratford Bandstand Summer Programme
Situated just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre and across the river from the theatre the bandstand can be found surrounded by green grass and a mini golf course, the perfect spot for an afternoon picnic. This weekend the bandstand is also host to the Bisham Concert Band, enjoy an afternoon of free music beginning at 2:30pm.

The Fourteas
Travel back in time with The Fourteas tea room. Designed to replicate the 1940s, this dainty tea
room boasts that ‘1940s community feel’ with cakes and pastries baked using locally sourced ingredients topping the menu, whilst all staff can be found dressed in period clothing. Sit back, relax, and enjoy an afternoon tea experience like no other.

Head over to Sheep Street and enjoy an evening meal in one of the oldest buildings in Stratford. Complete with original features and open beamed ceilings this restaurant offers great food and wine at a good price. Loved by locals there’s every reason to see what all the fuss is about.

Shakespeare Birthday Trust/New Place Revealed
Hosting an exhibition of illustrations thought to portray how William Shakespeare’s family home post 16th Century renovations would look externally, this exhibition is free to visit and open from 10am to 5pm every day. For lovers of history this is the perfect afternoon activity.
