Jaipur Sufi Festival

Monday, 10th October 2016 | Written By Prerna
At EAST we love Indian culture, art and festivals - we try to learn about the numerous events that take place around the country celebrating the country’s diversity and rich heritage.
The Jaipur Sufi festival is an annual South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nation’s festival that has been created as a unique platform for Scholars, Writers, Artist and Diplomats.

The festival brings together Sufi dance and music performances, poetry, book readings, and interactive sessions by over 50 SAARC Sufi scholars, 40 poets, 80 musicians, and performers from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Scholars will speak about rediscovering peace and reconciliation, love and compassion, respect for others and secularism.

The three day Sufi festival organised by the Foundation of SAARC Writers and Literature (FOSWAL) will be held at Diggi Palace in Jaipur from 14 to 16 October.
