India Fashion Week

Monday, 17th October 2016 | Written By Prerna
The EAST Ecommerce team were excited attend India Fashion Week London on October 15 - it was an exciting day celebrating Indian fashion. EAST has strong links with Indian inspired colour, texture and prints. Supporting Artisans is our heritage, and we continue to do this at every opportunity.
Following the success of last year’s event this year’s fashion week main catwalk event included Bumika and Jyoti, BIBI London, J’adore Adorn and Intri Printi who showed off collections featuring modern designs and sophisticated colour palettes. Like many Indian designers, we also love colour and bold patterns; our eclectic collections of clothing, jewellery and accessories are designed to complement each other, so it is easy to personalise and create your own look. EAST fabrics, patterns and textiles are Eastern inspired and fashioned into stylish, everyday essentials.
The original vision at EAST was to create and promote beautiful, Eastern inspired clothes and accessories that would be desired by women who celebrate individuality. Early collections were created in Jaipur, India and we continue to look to the East for key inspirations. India Fashion Week London captured the heart of creativity within the UK and beyond, seeking to promote the latest trends and talents in the South Asian Fashion industry. Our partnership with Fabindia and a variety of designers and Artisans have provided research opportunities that help us continue to promote our 'Designed to be Individual' vision.

The event took place at ExCel London right next door to the largest Asian wedding exhibition in Europe - the weekend was filled with east-west fusion at ExCel London! The celebration of Indian fashion also involved fringe events across London, from VIP jewellery launch events to well-known authors on Indian fashion hosting seminars on the various styles and trends seen on the catwalks.

The 2016 India Fashion Week London was held from the 14th to the 16th of October 2016.
