Honouring Inspirational People

Monday, 18th July 2016 | Written By Hannah
Today we celebrate the birthday of Nelson Mandela and all he did for the world. In honour of International Nelson Mandela Day we are picking our top five inspirational people throughout history.
Mahatma Gandhi
The pioneer of nonviolence, Mahatma Gandhi throughout his journey reframed from greed and power but shared love, compassion and creativity. He taught us that victory is not in winning but in trying your best, picking yourself up when times get hard and most importantly never giving up.
Oprah Winfrey

From helping people to helping the World, Oprah has done so much to support charities, people and the environment. She is a role model to many people and inspires us to be motivated and work towards our dreams no matter your circumstances.
Neeru Kumar
Today we praise the beautiful, meticulous pieces created by Neeru Kumar. Revolutionary to the world of handcrafted textiles she uses traditional skills and craft techniques in all her designs. Join us in celebrating the pieces of art and explore our exclusively designed kaftans and tunics which you will cherish forever.
Gautama Buddha
The great teachings of Buddha are a story well-known and loved. We at EAST recognise the importance of the mind, body and soul in order to live your life to the fullest. Buddha inspires us to share happiness and live for the moment. "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."
Malala Yousafzai
At a mere age of 19 Malala has achieved so much academically, mentally and for women everywhere. After more obstacles than you could imagine, Malala fought for her rights and went on to gain the first National Youth Peace Prize in Pakistan and many more awards. If you haven't yet read her book - I Am Malala - go to your local bookshop this weekend and grab yourself a copy, you won't be disappointed.

These are just some of the great people around the world that inspire us, who inspires you?
